5 ideas for first birthday gifts…

Oct 21, 2021 | Cake Smash, First Birthday

A first birthday is a real milestone. You’ve made it through the first year and your little one is finally reaching their first birthday.

So how are you going to celebrate?

A family party is always a really nice way to celebrate and you may also be thinking of what to buy for a memorable gift. Here are a few first birthday ideas of things that will stand the test of time and bring you many  happy memories.

  1. A Wooden baby walker with bricks is a great investment.

As your little one starts to take some steps a walker will be useful and the wooden blocks will also get plenty of playtime. Buying a wooden version means that you have something you can pass down through the family or to friends. It will also be robust enough to cope with being dragged into the garden and piled high with mud pies!
  2. A classic book is a great present.

My children’s favourite book was Room on the broom by Julia Donaldson. We had to buy several copies as it fell apart after being read night after night! She also wrote The Gruffalo and The Smartest Giant that are family favourites. A selection of classic books would make a great present.
  3. A Cake Smash photo session is something that is on most Mums list.

It’s a great opportunity to have professional photographs. It’s also a lot of fun and a good alternative to a party. Most shoots include family portraits, messy cake fun and a splash in the bath. Get in touch with us or your local photographer to get a shoot booked for your little one and you’ll have images to treasure forever. 4. Another entry in our first birthday ideas is a yearly ticket for a zoo.

And this idea is an experience for the whole family. We were lucky enough to be given a ticket for Port Lympe Safari Park and had many happy days out. Its also good if you are stuck for space at home and dont have space for anymore toys!
  5. Making a deposit into a Savings account/premium bonds is a really good option.

Often our houses are crammed with baby toys so this is a lovely gift for a child as the money can be saved until needed or until your child reaches the teenage years and needs driving lessons! It’s also a great lesson in money management!
